Print your book

Formats & sizes

Two bindings, two cover finishes, eight trim sizes. Your book’s page count and trim decide which of them are offered.

Bindings

Paperback (perfect-bound)
A glued, square spine with the title on it. Takes 32 to 800 pages. The usual choice for a book you’d sell.
Stapled (saddle-stitched)
Folded sheets stapled through the spine, like a magazine. Takes 4 to 48 pages. Good for short books and booklets, and the only binding for books under 32 pages.

Page counts are printed pages, padded to a whole sheet. If your book doesn’t fit either binding, the print flow says how many pages to add or remove.

Inside pages

  • Coloring books and puzzle books print in black and white on white paper — line art the way it should be coloured.
  • Storybooks print in colour, with a standard and a premium colour option where the format allows.

A book can have up to 100 printed pages; a colour book up to 48.

Cover finish

Every cover is laminated: choose matte (soft, low-glare, hides fingerprints) or gloss (shiny, deeper colours). The cover is the one you designed in the cover editor, with the spine sized to the binding and page count.

Trim sizes

Books print at the trim size the project was created with. We print these sizes (width × height):

  • 8.5 × 11 in
  • 8.5 × 8.5 in
  • 6 × 9 in
  • 7 × 10 in
  • 5.5 × 8.5 in
  • 5 × 8 in
  • 6.14 × 9.21 in
  • 7.5 × 7.5 in

8 × 10 in books

8 × 10 is a popular KDP trim that our print partner doesn’t offer. Those books print on 8.5 × 11 with the art centred on the page — nothing is cropped or scaled. Other sizes we can’t print are refused in the print flow rather than guessed at.
