What things cost

Each cover Generate makes a new picture and uses 2 pages. Earlier covers stay in Past renders, and switching back to one is free. Paige checks that your balance covers the whole book before it starts. Only the pages that finish come off your balance.

Where to see your balance

Your balance is in the top-right corner of every screen in the app.

• During the free trial it reads like “40 pages · 7 days left”, next to an Upgrade button. It turns amber at 10 pages or fewer, and red with Upgrade now at 0.
• On a plan it reads “N pages”, then “N pages · low” when you’re nearly out, and Get pages at 0.
• The dashboard’s Pages remaining card and the billing page’s Current balance card show the same number.

How the trial works

Your first plan starts with a 7-day free trial. You add a card to start it, and nothing is charged during the trial. The trial includes 40 pages, enough for a complete 24-page book, its cover, and room to redo pages. During the trial a Paige book can have up to 24 pages, which is KDP’s minimum page count for a paperback.

During the free trial you can create your whole book and download a watermarked preview. The print-ready file comes with your plan (start it any time), or unlock just that book for $24.

The $24 unlock (plus applicable tax) is a one-time payment for one book, not a subscription. Buying it during your trial doesn't end or change your trial. The unlock covers the book with up to 4 more pages than it has when you buy it (up to 28 pages, if that's more). Editing, replacing or reordering pages never counts.

• Cancel before day 7 and you’re never charged. See Subscription & plans.
• Keep going and the plan you picked starts on day 7. Stripe takes the first payment within about an hour of the trial ending, and your monthly pages arrive at the same time.
• Need more sooner? You can start your plan early in a couple of clicks: click Upgrade next to your balance (steps below). Unused trial pages stay on your account.

Bonus pages: starter quests

Your dashboard has a Getting started strip (“Try every creation surface — earn bonus pages”). Each first-time milestone adds pages to your balance, up to 40 in total:

• First coloring book: +10
• First storybook: +10
• First puzzle book: +10
• First mockup: +5
• First cover exported: +5

A message such as “First cover exported unlocked — +5 pages added to your balance” confirms each one.

Plans

Every plan includes every feature: Paige, storybooks, puzzle books, the cover generator, mockups and listings. Plans differ only in how many pages you get each month.

The free trial can start on Mini, Starter or Creator. Annual billing is about 17% cheaper (roughly two months free). Compare everything on pricing.

Rollover and renewal

• New pages arrive each time your plan renews. The billing page shows the date as Next renewal.
• On annual billing you pay once a year and still get your monthly pages every month, on the same day of the month your plan started (the last day of shorter months, so a plan that started on the 31st refills on February 28th or 29th).
• Unused pages roll over, up to 2× your monthly allowance (the rollover cap above). Pages over the cap are dropped at renewal, so use them first.
• Move to a bigger monthly plan, or switch a monthly plan to Mini, from the billing page; for other changes, email us.
• If you cancel a paid plan, you keep any unused pages and can still spend them. No new pages are added after it ends.

Running low on pages

ColorCraft doesn’t sell one-off packs of pages. You get more by starting or upgrading a plan, or by waiting for your next renewal. What to click depends on where you are:

   During the free trial: start your plan now

   Click Upgrade next to your balance. You can also click Upgrade now on the billing page. A window titled Upgrade your trial now? shows the price and the pages you’ll get.

   • If you have more than 10 trial pages left, tick “I still have N free trial pages. Charge my card today…” to confirm.
   • Click Upgrade now · $…. Your card is charged today for the plan you picked at sign-up. Click Not yet to back out.

   You’ll see “Charging your card…”, then “Welcome to [plan] — Your N pages for the month are in your account.”

   If something goes wrong

   “Upgrade in progress — Stripe is processing the charge.” The payment is still going through. Refresh in a minute and your new pages will be there.

   On a plan: move up a plan

   Open Billing and click Get more pages. In Get more pages each month, click Upgrade to [plan]. The summary shows what you’ll pay today (the prorated difference) and how many pages are added now. Click Confirm and pay $… or Back to plans.

   Trial or plan has ended: choose a plan

   On the billing page, click See plans. In Choose a plan, pick Monthly or Annual · save 17%, then the plan you want. Stripe takes the payment and your pages arrive right away.
