Your first coloring page
A five-minute walkthrough from an empty account to a printable coloring page. You’ll use Paige, the AI assistant that plans and generates every page of a book for you.

Before you start
- An account with an active trial or subscription. The 7-day free trial is enough to complete this guide and produce a real, exportable book.
- An idea for a book — a theme, an audience, and roughly how many pages. If you’re unsure, “farm animals for toddlers, 12 pages” works fine.

Sign in and open Paige
From the dashboard, click the Paige icon in the left rail. Paige is the agentic assistant that plans and generates the whole interior of a book from a single brief.
On the “What do you want to make?” screen, pick Coloring book.

Fill in the brief
Paige asks for four things:
- Title — can be a working title; you can change it later.
- Audience — toddlers, kids, teens, or adults. Drives line weight and complexity.
- Art style — the visual look (e.g. simple lines, mandala, cartoon, zentangle).
- Page count — typically 12–24 for a first book. Coloring pages cost 1 token each, so 12 pages = 12 tokens.
Click Draft prompts. Paige writes one prompt per page.

Review and edit prompts
Paige shows every prompt it drafted, one per page. You can:
- Edit any prompt inline.
- Ask Paige to rewrite one that doesn’t fit.
- Add or remove pages.
- Reorder pages.
When the list looks right, click Generate all pages.
Prompt style matters
Descriptive scene prompts work better than instruction-style ones. See Writing better prompts for examples of what works and what doesn’t.

Wait for generation
Paige generates every page in the background. You can close the tab — it keeps running on the server and picks up where you left off when you return. Most 12-page books finish in a few minutes.

Review and tweak in the editor
Once generation finishes, click any page to open it in the editor. From there you can regenerate individual pages, tweak their prompts, or reorder the book. See Canvas & tools for details.

Export
From the project view, use Export to download a print-ready PDF at the KDP trim you chose. For the front and back cover, open Cover generator from the same project.
