Paige for coloring books

Paige is the AI assistant that plans and generates the entire interior of a coloring book from a single brief. Instead of writing prompts one page at a time, you describe the book and Paige drafts a prompt for every page — you review, tweak, then let it render the batch.

This is the from-scratch wizard

This doc covers the Paige wizard at /paige/new/coloring— the flow that creates a new project and drafts every page from a brief. If you already have a project open, see Paige in the editor, or the Three ways to start overview.

The four steps

    Brief

    Tell Paige what the book is about: title, audience, art style, trim size, and page count. Everything on this screen is a hint — you can change any of it later.

    Click Save as draft to park a session for later, or Draft prompts to have Paige write a prompt per page and advance to step 2.

    Prompts

    Paige shows every prompt it drafted, one card per page. You can edit any prompt inline, drag to reorder, add or remove pages, or click Re-draft all to have Paige try again with a fresh seed.

    When the list looks right, click Render all.

    Generate

    Paige renders every page. A progress bar shows “rendering X of N” and thumbnails appear as they complete. The heavy lifting runs on the server — you can close the tab, come back later via the same URL, and pick up where you left off.

    Review

    A confirmation screen appears when generation finishes. Click Open in editor to jump into the per-page editor for final tweaks and export.

Resuming a session

Every draft gets a stable URL (/paige/[sessionId]). Bookmark it or leave the tab open — you can return days later and the brief, prompts, and any pages already rendered will still be there. Sessions are per-user; nobody else can open your draft.

Prompts come from a single seed

Paige drafts every prompt in the same pass so the pages hang together as a book. If you rewrite one prompt manually, only that page is affected on the next render.

Cost

Each rendered coloring page costs one token. A 12-page book spends 12 tokens from your monthly allowance. Editing a prompt and re-rendering that single page from the editor uses a separate daily-limited quota — see Regenerating pages.

Already have a project?

Paige also lives inside the editor. Open any project and expand the Paige panel in the left sidebar to draft and render a batch of 1–25 pages that append to what you already have — same prompt-drafting engine, different scope. See the Paige generator section of the editor doc.
