1. Introduction

At ColorCraft, we take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our service. We are committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected and that you understand how your data is handled.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Account Information

When you create an account, we collect: Email address, Name (if provided), Authentication data, Account preferences.

2.2 Usage Information

We collect information about how you use our service: AI prompts and generated content, Coloring book projects, Token usage, Feature usage.

2.3 Technical Information

We automatically collect: IP address, browser information, Device type, Usage analytics, and Error logs.

2.4 Order and Delivery Information

When you order printed copies of a book, we collect what is needed to print, ship, bill, and support that order: your name, shipping address, phone number, and email address; the book, format, and quantity you ordered; the price breakdown; and the order's status, tracking numbers, and any messages between you and support about it. If you choose to save an address for next time, it is stored in your account's address book until you remove it. Payment card details are entered on Stripe's checkout page and never reach ColorCraft; we receive only the payment outcome and a reference to the payment.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to: Provide and maintain our service, Process AI requests, Manage your account, Process payments, Improve our service, Provide customer support, and Ensure security.

Printed copies: When you order printed copies we also use your information to print and deliver the order (passing your name, address, and phone number to our print partner and its carriers), to check that the address is deliverable and offer a correction, to work out sales tax for your shipping address, to send you order emails (confirmation, shipping and tracking, cancellation, and refund notices), to handle cancellations, reprints, and refunds, and to keep the accounting and tax records the law requires us to keep.

4. AI Content and Data Processing

AI Training: Your prompts and generated content may be used to improve our AI models and service quality. We anonymize this data.

Content Ownership: You retain rights to your original prompts and the coloring books you create.

5. Information Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers below, each for the purpose stated and under terms that stop them using it for anything else; when the law requires it; or with your consent.

5.1 Service Providers

  • Hosting and storage: Vercel (runs the website and our servers) and Supabase (stores your account, projects, images, print files, and orders).
  • AI generation: OpenAI processes your prompts and the images you upload to generate illustrations and text.
  • Payments and sales tax: Stripe processes subscriptions, token purchases, and print orders, and calculates the sales tax we collect. Stripe receives your email, billing details, and, for print orders, your shipping address.
  • Transactional email: Resend delivers account, billing, and order emails to the address on your account.
  • Analytics: Vercel Analytics and PostHog receive page-view and product-usage events so we can see how the service is used; they do not receive your projects, prompts, or order details.

5.2 Printing and Delivery Partners

When you order printed copies you tick a box to share your name, shipping address, and phone number so the books can be printed and delivered. They go only to our print partner, the carriers and the address check they use, and only for this order:

  • Print partner: Lulu Press, Inc. prints and ships your books. It receives your name, shipping address, phone number, email address, and the print-ready files for the book you ordered.
  • Address check: Before the order is placed, your address is checked against the address-validation service our print partner uses (currently Google) so the carrier can deliver it.
  • Carriers: The carrier our print partner hands the parcel to (such as USPS, UPS, or FedEx) receives the name, address, and phone number on the order to deliver it and may contact you about the delivery.

We do not share your address book, your other projects, or your account details with any of them.

5.3 Legal Requirements

We may disclose information when required by law, a court order, or a lawful request from a public authority, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of ColorCraft, our users, or others.

5a. Data Retention

We keep your account information and projects for as long as your account is open. When you delete your account, your account, projects, images, and saved addresses are deleted.

Order records: A paid print order is a sales record we are required to keep for accounting and tax purposes. Deleting your account removes the link between the order and your account, but the order itself, including the name and address it shipped to, the amounts paid, and the taxes collected, is retained for as long as those laws require.

Print files: The print-ready PDFs and page images made for an order are stored privately and kept for a limited period after your last order of that book, so that a damaged copy can be reprinted, and are then deleted.

6. Data Security

We implement appropriate security measures including encryption, secure authentication, and regular security audits to protect your information.

7. Your Rights and Choices

You have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your data. You can also opt-out of non-essential communications. Please contact us to exercise these rights.

8. Cookies and Tracking

We use essential cookies to maintain your login session, remember preferences, and ensure security. You can control cookies via your browser settings.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new policy on this page.
